## What it is

Marlin Translate translates the thing you are actually looking at, in place, without leaving the app you are reading in.

- **On device.** Translation runs locally. Selected text and the sentence around it are processed on the phone or tablet and are not transmitted, logged, or stored by Marlin6 LLC.
- **Offline.** No network round trip, so no connection is required and nothing waits on one.
- **Instant.** The result appears where the selection is, at reading speed, not after a spinner.
- **Context-aware.** Most translators take a word alone. Marlin Translate reads the sentence and the passage around the selection first, so an ambiguous word resolves to the sense the page is using rather than its most common one.
- **Professional quality.** Aimed at people reading real material — books, papers, documentation — where the wrong sense of a word changes the meaning of the paragraph.
- **Private by construction.** There is no server for reading history to reach. See the privacy policy.

## Status

- Not yet released. Marlin Translate is coming to the App Store and Google Play.
- Early access is free, and the list is used for exactly one launch email.
